Facial diagnosis is a naturopathic tool that enables your practitioner and you to devise your unique way to health and anti-ageing
Facial Diagnosis is something we subconsciously perform every time we engage into a communication with someone:
“You look all gaunt, what’s up - are you trying to do too much?”
You look really well – your eyes are shining, your skin feels so soft….",
You’ve been working late again – you look all drawn in and tired. You definitely need some rest!”
Or, how often do we think: “He is just pretending he is having a good time – his lips are smiling but his eyes aren’t”,
or “She just won’t let go – her lips are so tight!”
The art and science of Facial Diagnosis have their roots in the ancient Chinese medicine. Its general principle is that prevention is better than cure, and that the body has a way of communicating its need to heal or rebalance itself. Reading the face is one of the ways of understanding these needs.
Chinese healers believed that the face was a concentrated expression of the body while the body was an expanded expression of the face.
Unlike modern mainstream medicine, Facial Diagnosis is not designed to “label” your conditions. Its purpose is to draw your attention to imbalances and weaknesses in your health or fitness, in your digestion, absorption or immune or respiratory systems. And, as we know, “where attention goes the energy flows”.
Facial diagnosis practitioners will be able to see which systems of your body are strong and which ones are weaker, which ones are coping well with the stresses and strains of modern life, and which ones could do with some conscious support. For example, if some areas of your face are congested, this could mean that the organs corresponding to these areas are stressed. This stress may be caused by physical or emotional factors – and it is up to you, together with your practitioner, to unravel the underlying web of events, thoughts and actions that have led to the “bottleneck” that is now showing in your face.
This website will only recommend you those Facial Diagnosis practitioners who were trained by the Chi Centre. These are the therapists who work naturopathically, looking you as the whole person. They all practice other modalities and use Facial Diagnosis as a screening and educational tool in their general practice.
Please spend some time reading the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website. If you are a nutritionist, a complementary health, massage, colon hydrotherapy (colonic irrigation) practitioner, you may want to train to perform Facial Diagnosis and add it to your toolkit.
